In the ancient times, the instrument was known as “fortepiano”. This is derived from an Italian word which means “loud-soft”. Depending upon its quality that it could be played both loudly and softly, it was given this unusual name. This can be done by hitting the right note of the piano. Later on, this name was transformed into “pianoforte”. Consequently, it was shortened to the current name; that is “piano”.

Tips on how to learn Piano

·         Look out for the piece you want to start with: - To start off, you need to give an ear to the dynamics of the instrument.

·         Divide your learning schedule: - To make your work manageable, you need to set up small scale goals that can be achieved practically. Distributing your work into parts will make it hassle free and also guide you to understand the dynamics of the instrument with much ease. You will also be able to differentiate between the artist playing and yourself.

·         Practice individually: - Now, comes the practice part, first start with your right hand and then move on to your left one. Keep the lyrics or music in your mind and practice efficiently.

·         Make bit by bit additions: - Add to your practice session in minute forms, so that you will be able to mesmerize it in splits.

·         Keep your practice regular: - Anything if needs to be learnt require immense practice so that the learner can be perfect in the art of playing the instrument.
